This velvet dated around 1500AD and displayed in Metropolitan Museum of Art is a silk pile, silk ground voided velvet in its original. We can weave this fabric in a slight alternation – with red viscose pile and beige ground from pure silk. We will use the heaviest available silk velvet with density of 240 g/m2! These silk velvets are very soft and flowing, a real touch of luxury. Please note that the voided area, the beige background of the pattern, is slightly transparent as shown in one of the pictures above. You will need to use a lining with this fabric.
