15th Century Silk Velvet B – SUCCESSFULLY FINISHED, Project Closed

15th century velvet, Italy

This velvet from late 15th century and displayed in Metropolitan Museum of Art is a silk pile, silk ground voided velvet in its original. We can weave this fabric in a slight alternation – with blue viscose pile and silver ground from pure silk. We will use the heaviest available silk velvet with density of 240 g/m2! These silk velvets are very soft and flowing, a real touch of luxury. Please note that the voided area, the silver pattern, is slightly transparent as shown in one of the pictures above. You may need to use a lining with this fabric.

This fabric came out so delightfully well. I love it. It’s soft, strong color, and an overall high quality item. :)

This is so lovely. If you ever were to weave this again, I’d would purchase some at least 5 m. – Robin
